Speedo going..keep the odo..?

Speedometer on my 87 5kcstq working intermittently at 275,000 miles, so I
will be replacing it.

Anyone know if the odometer can be removed from the unit? I'm proud of that
mileage!

Anyone know which year models speedos are interchangeable? According to ETKA,
looks like 87,88 only.
