OK, I think I see what you're getting at - and from a conceptual standpoint,
we are agreeing - however it is the practical implications we have
differences about. Here goes:
You want people to follow what you would prefer them to do...
I, OTOH, would like people to follow the laws, so I can predict their
movements...

In other words, we both want the same thing - predictability in peoples
reactions do upcoming faster traffic.

OK, here's my problem with you, and what you want:
There's already a law that deals with the issue - why not just stick to
that, instead of writing our own, which is what you are attempting with your
suggestions or requests.

Now, I do completely agree, that if you (or I) chose to break the speed
limits, and have some fun (er, ... yeah, whatever...) then it is up to us to
take responsibility for our actions and driving. I just think it would be a
much simpler task, if everyone else actually followed the laws that you and
I are breaking.....

OK, this is starting to sound silly and/or hypocritical, so I think I'll end
here, before I get myself into an even deeper hole...

;-)
