Congrats.
I had (until a few months ago) a '95 A6Q Avant, with the 12V V6.
Note that there was a "newer" 12V engine put out, I believe it was
the AAH code. Not much difference, until you try to buy oil filters!
Anyway, overall the car was excellent. The only reason I sold it was
because I really decided I needed a stick, and the Avants only came
with (4-speed) autos. There were a "few" sedans with sticks, if that
is important to you.
Things to note: the '92s had problems with cylinder head gaskets
leaking. They were fixed under recall, but not all were done. And
now the recall is over, so you will have to pay $$$. Also, there was
an ignition switch recall on many of these cars, a sticky contact
was the problem I believe.
Out of curiosity, why are you considering the 90 and the A6? The
90 was "replaced" by the A4, the smaller chassis. The A6 replaced
the 100, the bigger chassis.
