And the funny thing is, you wouldn't think they sounded so great if you
knew how much they paid for those names.
Large companies use expensive brand management firms to come up with
product identities for them. I worked for a telecommunications company that
paid close to a million dollars to have Lippincott & Margulies (they do
Pepsi I think) come up with a new name for them.
I'll bet Daewoo hired a similar company and I'm sure Audi went through the
same thing for their "All-road" A6.
I use to work with a lot of marketing people and its fascinating how much
of how we view cars is what we've been "told" through their advertising and
brand management.
