I did this job on my 82 coupe, the rod was riveted to the handle
mechanism, "access" was from above. The rivet and rod were still
available via the dealer.
The wrecked 90Q looks to have a similar but more complicated setup,
again, access from above. The rivet is longer and thinner, might be
replaceable with an appropriate bolt and lock nut.
