Stongard

Mike,

I had Stonegard (by 3M) applied on an older A4 that I owned a while back. It's
great stuff; especially if you like black cars like myself.

The Stonegard itself never peeled, yellowed or left residue on the edges. In
fact, it performed much better than I had thought it would.

The only downside is that the Stonegard does not have the gloss of your original
paint, so up close it may not look as good. But it looks way better after a
couple of years than have minute stone chips all over the front.

Incidentally, if you live in a winter state, it's best to get the full stonegard
package including the side mirrors.

Also, hunt around for prices, the pieces are usually shipped pre-cut and should
cost around $175. But labor can vary tremendously. My wife bought a new car
recently and they wanted (get ready for this) $1595 to install Stonegard on
the front of the car. I kid you not...

Thanks,
Peter
