I agree with the above, but why use an european built Garrett when you can
get far more refined t3/t4 custom designs in the us. The bigger
manufacturers like Turbonetics have custom exhaust turbines, compressor
housings that work a lot better then the stock garret stuff available here
in europe. Since this is used a lot in the import tuning market the price is
a lot better then an european built turbo with the same specs would be. It
is amost impossible to get ANY turbo over here for $900, that is what a high
end turbonetics t3/t4 cost.
Or we can take a look at Precision turbo that has specialized in the big T
series from garrett, but they combine it with really high tech turbine and
compressor wheels instead of the ordinary truck stuff. I think that the
"small" TE32 turbo would be a good match for a really fast i5 engine.

I have a friend that has tosted a few very expensive ball bearing GT turbos,
I think that he will try an american built turbo next time... BTW, he works
at a big turbo supplier here in Sweden!
