Folks,

Exactly 20 years ago, on my first day of high school, my father's office at Ramstein AFB in Germany was hit with a car bomb. My father had already left work work. My mother was frantic once she had heard what happened. Luckily, Dad was OK and there was no loss of life. I still remember that day and the sound of the explosion.

A few years later we were at "Flugtag" when the Italian Air Force jet crashed into the crowd watching the air show. I remember the shock of this day as well.

This morning I get a call from my Mom, stating she can't get ahold of Dad, and that she knew he had an appointment today at the Pentagon. We finally discover he's OK and stuck at Bolling AFB. His appointment wasn't until later today. After calming down my Mom, dad in his understated ways says:

"Dear, we've been through this before. We're Ok."

I'm going to remember today, too. The third time in my life where I've felt completely impotent, and powerless.

At least I can pray,
Cello
