V8 quattro

Just bought a V8.....awesome. Question, should there be, at idle, a loping
or rumbling? It feels like the whole car moves with the engine, any clue? Am
I looking at motor mounts, or etc. In addition, when should the fan come on?
I parked yesterday and didn't hear it, although the temp gauge never went
above midline while traveling between 80-90 mph, when I stopped to refuel, I
smelled a slightly acrid smell, that reminded me of my 911 turbo after
spirited running, is this normal? Any insight, ideas, or suggestions would
be appreciated.
