Tried to get MC, UGGHHHH

Hey list
Just got back from the boneyard. Tried to get the MC from a 5ktq. Boy was
that a crappy idea. First, from everything I've ever heard there is a
separate computer for fuel and ignition. The manual I've got for the 5k even
says they are separate, unless that's only for the N/A cars.....I couldn't
find 2 computers. Anyway I pull the Mac-11 box and try pulling the harness.
It runs all the way to the drivers side, took me an hour to get it all
undone and fed out into the engine bay. So I am dilligently working, get the
CIS system removed to take with the engine, and get to the warmup reg. Those
wires goes back into the interrior....somewhere. I finally decided to cut my
time losses and walk away instead of trying to pull the dash. Very
frustrating day. I am realizing that I had a good idea when I started this
whole turbo conversion. I wanted to only do the JT turbo because I wouldn't
have to do any wiring. I should have stayed true to this I guess. I *may*
put in an MC long block sometime to get the piston oil jets and the sodium
valves, but not until my clutch goes. I will NEVER swap the fuel and
ignition systems unless I buy the whole engine from a full service yard and
it's all ready to go.
So for now, I am going to add a vac advance/boost retard canister to my
distributor and see how that does me. I am doing very well, I have no knock
at 6° of timing and 8psi, but I'm starting to want a little more power.

Going back to the turbo diesel swap into my Rabbit, only 4 wires to worry
about........
