Mike, the 20v head will fit no problem, with an NG/NF block you will result
in aproximately 7.5:1 or so, not spectacular, especially in NA form, and very
little torque below 3KRPM. Honestly, a strong NG 2.3 with cam and exh. will
probably feel quicker compared to this motor. But, once you consider
turbocharging it, it will be a great platform to start from.

<< Hey guys,
Got some new info. This is enough to convince me. I was reading the archives
and half the people said the 20v head would fit, the other half said the oil
and water passages were different. Well, I looked on carparts.com and the
head gasket for the 2.3 7A 20v N/A engine is the same part number as the
head gasket for both the 2.3 NG and NF engines. So my plan: Find an NF/NG
block in good shape, and work from there. I am going to fabricate my own
intake and exhaust manifolds, and may get a spare exhaust housing (from
whatever turbo I'm using) and weld it up so that I can eliminate the turbo
from the system, and see how it goes N/A before I go with the turbo.
