A4 curiousity (no WTC content)

Funny how you can drive a car for over 2 years and just notice something! 
What I noticed this morning, starting my 1.8t, was that when turning the key
to "on," the gas pedal depresses itself just a bit.  Anyone know what's up
with that?  This is a '98, *not* a drive-by-wire car, so I can't think what
should be moving the pedal for me.

Just curious, like the subject line says.
