Just had to share this. It makes me weep with nostalgia for my the
drumset I made when I was thirteen--out of plastic ice cream buckets
and a washtub. This slightly more adult version of my inner child has
created a true masterpiece starting with the bad DIY unprimed paint
job which had to have been done with about 20 cans of yellow
rustoleum. This beauty has so many loving touches like the antennae
mast and the very obvious wheel covers that have been repainted to
match the racing stripes, er, squiggles. Behold the plywood bookshelf
wing that is, in a dumbfounding stroke of literalism, made from ACTUAL
bookshelves. The crowning glory has to be the cardboard, duct tape and
chickenwire chin gaurd that would act like a garbage plow it it were
strong enough to withstand hitting an aluminum can or a rolled up
newspaper. Apparently Menard's ran out of yellow rustoleum before he
had a chance to paint it. Same goes for the windshield banner that
is blank. (Maybe it's a Yoko Ono thing and you're supposed to get up
really close with a magnifying glass to read the word "yes" on it.)
The picture makes it difficult to tell, but I'm quite sure the NOS
bottle is made out of a sport sipper and probably filled with the gas
from cans of Reddywhip. I imagine future projects include clear
tailight covers made out of old two liter pop bottles and window
tinting done with a case of sharpie markers and a lot of patience.

I just keeping looking at the picture, in total awe. This car could
star in a wacked out Red Green parody of the Fast and the Furious.
The slow and the spurious?
