Our business is plastics, and I must agree that Teflon is NOT a good choice
for suspension parts. It has what is called "cold flow", and will not hold a
form under mechanical force. It is very hard to machine unless it is chilled
stiffen it up. It's lubricating property makes it a great wear resistant
product, but cutting tools glide over the surface only to finally cut deep
after the force overcomes the "cold flow" property.
Delrin, by comparison, is very hard and machines very well.
High Density PolyEthylene (HDPE) is also a better choice then Teflon. Also
much cheaper.
