shift linkage ?'s

Your incomplete shifting probably is related to either worn bushings or 
loose fasteners in the linkage.

Someone posted a while back (should be in archives of audifans.com) about 
cutting down the lever rod (item 4 in the linked image) and rethreading the 
resulting shorter rod for the knob.  I think Blau also sells a short-throw kit.
