Mix N match engine swap?

    Well there are 4k 1.8t's out there, FWD makes it even easier because the
FWD had a 4 cylinder if I'm not mistaken.  That means the trans should bolt
up to the 1.8t block.  I like the 1.8t, it's advanced, small, and very
tunable.  I know it's not for everyone, but if I went with a turbo engine
again in my 90q20v that would be it, plus it would leave lots of room for a
big intercooler up front.  I am still toying with the notion of picking up
my old 2.0 turbo motor and getting that into the 90q20v.  Too bad that would
be a huge project in itself.  I really want the V8 in my 90:)

    Quattro is great for high power applications, torque steer is a pain for
sure.  Though I think people discount the FWD Audis way too quickly.
