I just redid my 90Q, I'm in NH so my bad AC was no crisis to me either.

Got rid of the AC compressor (big weight!) and condenser (in the way),
got a new 4kq radiator since it "lacks" the extra hose outlet, and
ditched the aux. radiator. You might want to at least use a new
4kq/coupe lower rad. hose, since it does not have the third connection
that went to the aux rad - one less thing to plug. You will have to
shorten it by a few inches at the block flange end. Good time for a new
thermostat, too. Always a good time for a new thermostat...

I have had no cooling issues set up this way, including enough hot
weather (90 deg F) weather to be certain.

dropping it on your head is the only one I can think of.

if you think there might be any residual refrigerant charge, the "right"
way to do it is to have it sucked out by a pro to be recycled - keep it
out of the atmosphere...

the fitting can be a little tough to wrestle off sometimes. Big mm
wrenches help!
