I've only been over 130 in two cars in my life. In about 1973 in a 1970
Pontiac GTO at 130-ish indicated - very "floaty" and scary. The other was
just last year in a 1991 200 Avant that had been massaged by Ned at Intended
Acceleration. Got on I-5 and in less than a mile we were doing 150. It was
not scary until I realized that if someone wasn't paying attention and
pulled in front of us doing 70 (10 over the limit) we would be rear-ending
them at 80mph.
Aside from that, the car was VERY stable and quiet. The owner said about
330HP with new Turbo, Intake manifold and chip. I think the car could have
gone faster but we had to exercise the UFO's to make the next exit (which
was only 1.5 miles from the onramp we came from.

That totally depends on the car. Some cars are very stable at those
speeds.

I agree - having run the 944 Turbo S up to 140 (BTW, 4th gear in that car -
it's still got one more :-) ), it's like going 60. Except for closure
rates.
Other than that, though.... :-)
Later!
