a slightly different kind of tire question

Hello All,
Going to be getting a new set of tires for the 4kq soon, and I'm trying
to decide what to get. I had a set of Michelin Pilot XGTH4's on it
which I was fairly happy with, and may go with again, but I thought I'd
check with everyone before I get another set.
The reason I am asking is this. I drive this car to work every day,
about 100 miles round trip, but it is also driven quite hard on evenings
and weekends. I have dedicated snow tires that I put on the car in the
winter, but I try and keep their use somewhat limited. That means that
there are days that I would have my regular tires on, and it would be
rather cold (20's to 30's deg F). I would buy dedicated summer tires
because I love to really drive the car hard, but I'm worried that on
cold mornings, they will be hockey pucks, and cause a tense ride to work
(been out in my Porsche on sticky yokohamas a few times at 15F, not fun)
. That reason is why I got high performance all season tires, instead
of summer tires last time.
Other than telling me just to keep the snow tires on from October till
June, when there isn't a possibility of it getting that cold in the
mornings, what would you recommend? All seasons, or summers?
I liked the Michelins, they were well made, wore fairly well (I got
50k miles, with very spirited driving) and provided me with excellent
grip in wet and dry. They were a little pricey (as most Michelins are),
but I can justify some expense for a really good, fairly long lasting
tire.
Thanks!
