and you balanced out the wobble, right, with the wheel mounted on the
balancer dead straight?

What you describe could be due to slight out of balance in two or more
wheels, adding to or cancelling each other depending on relative wheel
position (which changes with turns).

The wheel/tire combos could also be slightly out of round (but balanced)
if those "wobbles" are bad enough, and those are adding or cancelling as
the wheels change relative rotational position.
