Hi all,
Well, so far in the last few weeks I have rebuilt my rear brake calipers an=
d proceeded to break a bleeder nipple off in the caliper. I then broke an =
EZ out in the broken nipple. $50 later from a machine shop and $2 for a ne=
w nipple and I was back in business.
Last January I bought a set of 4 strut inserts(KYB GR2), 4 stop/boot kits, =
and 2 new upper front strut mounts and decided it was time to put 'em in. =
The first night I tried to tackle my drivers side front strut. After I bro=
ke my ball joint/tie rod end separator (fork type) I should have called it =
a night, but I pressed forward. After a trip to Autozone I bought a screw =
type pitman arm press (so far so good). I then proceeded to break the lowe=
r caliper carrier bolt. The rest of the job went flawlessly though.
Tonight, I did the passenger side, leaving the caliper carrier attached to =
the strut, and did it in 2 hours, no issues. Fronts are done, 2 down 2 to =
go.
Is this fun or what??? I can not wait to see what the rear has in store fo=
r me. What a difference the fronts have made though, I am excited to get t=
he rears done.
