Yeah very tricky indeed.....It really wouldn't work too well.

Yeah it uses the negative terminal on the coil to get the RPM signal.

The only way this could work would be to say it's a 10 cylinder AND a two
stroke (which you can do) then it would fire the injectors at the right rate
(once per 2 revolutions on the 5 cylinder)
But this is getting silly :) It can handle odd amounts of injectors, one
injector drive circuit (There are 2) just flows a little more current
because of an extra injector.
