When I posed a similar question regarding an early 90's
V8 vs. a mid-90's S4, fans of each backed up their choices
with valid arguments. But the most compelling answer was
the one that said, in essense, "Buy what lights your fire."
The older V8 appealed to me with its look, its torque, and
its quiet. It provided the best attributes for my driving
conditions (lots of traffic, low speed limits, heavily
patrolled). When I want quick acceleration and a 6-speed,
I get it with my Kawasaki ZX-6 (riden on roads where there
is less traffic, higher speed limits, and fewer radar traps).
For my $25K, I'd probably get a '91 Audi V8 ($10K), a '97
BMW R1100RS (2 wheels, $10K), and a week for two in Hawaii
($5K).
So, tell us which you like and why, and then you'll have
your answer.
