Hey Phil:
Many of us ignore your indescretions, this isn't your first that strays WAAAY
from audi content (mime format comes to mind). A "post or two" has been
tolerated for hundreds over my 6+ years on these lists. Once it becomes a
"thread", it really should be considered in terms of the individual list
"rules of posts". The clear difference between "for sale" items and your
posts on this subject to date is simple: NAC. Not close, not remotely, not
even a mention of audi. Just as Torsen got it's own list (read the
definition, it's not a "debate" list, it's a technical "in depth" discussion
list - your thread barely qualifies, but many of us would be happy to
accomodate it). Mark Chang, who spent a whole lot of time to get Marketplace
up (thanks Mark!), hopefully reduced the traffic of FS items on the
individual lists, but I'll be happy to chime in when FS is a baby stroller or
non audi cellular phone.
I'm disappointed that some longstanding members of any list seem to lose
sight of quattro lists focus and purpose. Your argument of "complexity"
still lacks basic relevency. Many of us still wonder why, with all this
complex task skill, you couldn't have put up 1 or 2 posts asking for
interest, make a phone book "send to". IF you feel it is your *right* to use
these lists for the purpose of disseminating NAC information, the Torsen list
is available to you. Your continued browbeating of your "work" to these
lists isn't necessary, nor appropriate, and IMHO cause one to question
motive. Seeing this on the urq list is beyond disappointment, it drags the
high SNR many of us were trying to avoid from the main list.
Does it really take listmeister edicts to get you to stop? That's fine.

I have to say I'm disappointed by the reaction to this effort in some
quarters. As others
have pointed out, it took a lot of unpaid work to get this far. Perhaps some
people should
download some of the files and see how complex they are - then make a
contribution themselves
of similar magnitude.
And if I ever see a 'for sale' post to the main lists without an immediate
complaint from
these same quarters (given that there is a 'Marketplace' section) I might
suspect just a
little hypocrisy
