It's a great idea and I, like others, applaud the effort; I've seen
emails from people to the list saying so, and you've said you're
getting feedback, so I don't think the effort has gone unnoticed nor
unappreciated; further, since most of the list lives in the US, where
web-enabled phones are pretty badly implemented(and UrQs are pretty
darn rare) etc, the limited reaction isn't surprising; I know my
phone, for example, isn't WAP enabled. In fact, most of Nokia's line
of phones aren't, and they're very popular phones...so I'd say don't
get discouraged. I bet the UK and German UrQ groups would go nuts
over this sorta stuff, etc.
I don't think messages that are progress updates on adding content
etc are "NAC"...BUT...this list isn't for the discussion of technical
computer problems with the implementation and such, which was the
exclusive subject of a few messages.
I've got a few Audi-related web/database projects I'm toying around
with to help me learn PHP, SQL etc. I discuss the problems I'm
having with getting them working and seek help, in an appropriate
forum. Just like these lists help people who need to know something
about their Audi, I'd be very surprised if there isn't a WAP-related
mailing list or web board that could be of a lot of help. Not a
whole lot of people here even know what WAP is.
I personally think periodic updates will encourage people to use what
sounds like a useful resource, but I don't think discussions about
the technical details of the implementation aren't appropriate here...
