Howdy Qlist:
It's been ages since I posted but Spring has sprung and a young girl's
fancy turns to car maintenance. This winter's 3 inches of freezing rain
really did in my ailing door handles. While I found a source for cheap
parts, I noticed that the link to Mountain Auto's door handle repair
BTDT for the 4kq is dead. In fact they seem to have disappeared
altogether. Any clues as to what happened?
I am going to have to swap the whole handle and the gaskets out for
new. Also I'm finally getting around to fixing the trunk strut after so
many clunks to the head.
Any BTDTs on these jobs?
After the mechanicals, the annual Eurotrash Princess facelift will begin
to repair those rust wrinkles of winter. I like to think of it as
turning my driveway into an automotive spa rather than a body shop. I
am probably going to swap the hood for a better one if funds permits.
On the personal front I am getting married in June so that has put a
dent (pun intended) in my body repair budget for a while. How I wish
one could register at Blaufergnugen . Also the timing of the wedding
interferes with the Brainerd Driving school. Which I'm bummed about
since I don't think I've caused enough instructors to utter the phrase
"violent inputs." But I will be back after all that and ready for
summer and fall events like St. Cloud and Road America.
Graham and I participated in our first rally this spring in Cannon
Falls, MN. Since the odo on the Princess has never worked, he drove his
Saab and I was the navigator. I discovered that I have the ability to
read while riding on curvy roads, eat bananas and not get car sick.
Other navigators weren't so lucky and more than once had to make special
puke stops. We did pretty well for our first attempt, but I am anxious
to get my turn in the driver's seat.
Well that's about enough for now,
