Relay Question

The Audi relay in my 1988 5KSQ for the A/C is p/n 443 919 578B.  It is the
one in the fuse box in the #11 position.  In addition to the p/n, it also
contains the markings 12V 40A.  I assume that means that it is a 12 volt 40
amp relay.  There is also "235" written in big numbers on the top.

Can I replace this relay with a generic 12 volt 40 amp relay?  Anything
special about this relay?
