Optimum shifts

I read an article on this exact question and the "experts" said that you
want to shift at a point so that the rpm in the next gear is close to peak
torque.  They concluded that shifting at or near red line in most cars will
do the trick.  In my turbo, it feels stronger if I don't run it out too far
before shifting. Do whatever feels good!
