200tqa20v - no start

Howdy all.   After more than a year with no troubles at all, my 91 avant
died yesterday morning.  Took it out for a short run in the morning and
all was fine.  When I tried to start it later in the morning, everything
had power except the starter.  The only sound is a slight solenoid click
in the dash when turning the key on...no starter solenoid click or any
other signs of life.  Yesterday was the last day for tax returns here in
Mass., so I didn't get a look at it until today.  Checked  ground cable,
which seems fine.  My thoughts are (1) ignition switch and (2) starter.
 The little solenoid sound in the dash makes me think starter, though.
 Anyone have any other suggestions about alternative problems and, if it
is indeed the starter, where the best place is to start looking.  Also
wondering about starter interchangeablity between the 91 and other typ
44s.  Looking forward to any help that might be forthcoming. Regards, Tom
