Front Oil Seal Replacement

I did this on my I5 a few months ago. To get the crank seal out I made a
little tool out of a nail. I ground off half of the head, bent the shank,
worked the remaining part of the head in between the crank and the seal,
then levered out the nail (and hooked seal) against the end of the crank
with pliers and screwdriver. A few people told me that sheet rock screws
have worked well for them. The manual says the new seal should be flush
with the front of the flange that it goes into, so an appropriately-sized
PVC pipe coupling tapped with a hammer served to drive the seal and set it
flush.
