And here is how to never be bothered by it in the first place:

Along this same line, I have had extremely good results from using AVG from
http://www.grisoft.com.

It's free.  It's downloadable.  Updates (including one a few days ago which
handles this particular virus) are also free and frequent and automatic if
you desire it.  It handles checking incoming mail (and other files)
transparently and places any suspect files directly into a "virus vault"
where you are totally safe from them.  You can then dispose of them later
at your convenience.  I recommend this software - Highly!
