Front Oil Seal Replacement

Hey, I made one of those tools from a nail as well, Wayne, to get the seal
out of my 200q.
Didn't work.
I tried the screw idea - just ripped the screws right out of the seal.
By this time the seal was quite badly mangled.
It turns out Audi glues some of these seals into the block with sealant.
According to the local Audi tech, even the factory tool won't pull a glued
in seal.
I just happened to get lucky and get one of the glued in seals. I finally
removed it by cutting the metal seal housing with a needle file (carefully,
oh so carefully) and peeling the seal out of the oil pump. Took me about 3
hours to get it out without scoring the crank or the oil pump housing.
