[s-cars] ETKA USA under WIN2000

Hey guys,

I was the one who invented those directions, and they've worked on all
the machines I've installed ETKA / EPC5 on, and everyone I've passed them
on to except for Igor. I don't think that abridged version will work
below without any of the EPC_PROG.NT4 executables / DLLs (IE, only
copying LEXHDL5.DLL after installation, and that's it).
How is the below version any different than the previous (mine)?
My directions were to copy that LEXHDL5.DLL from the .W95 directory also.
Did you do anything else differently? Or did you bypass entirely the .NT4
copying?

If all you're doing is installing as normal, then copying LEXHDL5.DLL,
ETKA should've just worked out of the box without that step because the
true problem with ETKA on W2K is that the installer thinks W2K is Win 9x,
so it installs the .W95 executables, DLLs, etc. when in reality W2K is
NT-based and needs the NT executables and DLLs (except for that
LEXHDL5.DLL), and won't work properly with Win 9x ones. That LEXHDL5.DLL
should already be there after a W2K install, except that when you copy the
.NT4 directory it will be overwritten and thus needs to be copied again
from .W95 (I should've written 'copy all files except .INI and LEXHDL5.DLL
from .NT4' to clarify). So I'm at a loss as to how that worked.

Was your system upgraded to W2K and not a clean installation? That might
have something to do with it.
