4k 5+5 and SCCA racing?

I think I have an old Motor Trend magazine with a "Hot New Sedans" story -
they were running the 4000 5+5 vs. the Aries K and a Renault something er
other...  I'll see if I can dig it up if anyone is interested in some Audi
nostalgia.

I was surprised to see that of the handful of Audi's (very few) listed in
SCCA competition categories, the 4k 5+5 is one listed.  I'd really like to
get into some ITA/ITS etc. Regional SCCA racing, but I'm not thinking I'm
going to find any 5+5's out there.  I've been leaning toward BMWs.... I
know...blaspheeemoooor!  If anyone has any insight for me on entry level
SCCA options, feel free to drop me a note.
