I always got about 28-30 mpg on the highway 20-25 city with my old fwd 5000,
and around 26-27 highway, 19-22 city with my current 86 5000 qt.......and I
have a "Charlie Spring" and ECU mods, along with a heavy right foot.....Make
sure your Fuel to air ratio is set right, either with an inexpensive ( JC
Whitnless) fuel to air gauge or with a decent Digital Dwell Meter to set Duty
Cycle with, because a correct mixture is the key to both Mileage and
performance.
