Volatility is reduced at colder temps so more fuel is injected to compensat=

[My fuel mileage increases by 2-5 mpg when outside temperature increases fr=
om 20-30 F to 60-70 F on my '88 5KCTQ. There does not seem to be much diffe=
rence in my dash gauge engine temperature when running in 20 vs 60 F air. I=
s this because cold air can hold more fuel and my engine is not compensatin=
g? Or does the engine temp reading sense non-mileage related engine region?=
