Well if you do that at 25% duty cycle you're back to 12V RMS which will
therefore make bugger all difference. You can now crank up the duty cycle to
take the rms voltage to 14.4V which is the max design voltage for auto
bulbs. Tungsten Halogen bulbs are essentially unconcerned about frequency,
Integral dimmer thatre fixtures run at up to 48 KHz but they don't get more
light out.
