Yep. Didn't remove the headrest at all. I got a piece of metal about 18"
long, bent it 90 degrees in the middle and then twisted one end 90 degrees.
I mounted a camera mount on this end (you can also mount the camera directly
if you've got the right size bolt).

I drilled a couple of holes on the other side and inserted U bolts. These U
bolts wrap around the vertical posts below the headrest.

The mount goes toward the middle of the car and back, so that the camera
looks over my shoulder. A fisheye lens would be ideal to pick up both
outside action and driver's activities...haven't picked one up yet.

BTW, a small camera is important...and keeping it steady is even more
important. I use a bungee cord to keep some tension on the mount so that it
doesn't move around at all.

It's pretty steady overall, not quite as steady as a dedicated rollbar
mount, but then again, I can remove it in about 30 seconds.

Play around a bit with camera angles to make sure that you've got the right
setting and that nothing moves. It's a lot of fun to watch yourself on the
track or autocross circuit! And don't forget to shut the camera off after a
run...
