having been there, done that, with a new part to install, I can say it
is far from simple.
Used many varieties of hammer... it is a very strong sprung-in press
fit, and will not "work around the edge" - actually, I could get it
"started" on one side, but the next light or heavy blow resulted in
ballistic displays. And you can't whack it hard on center without
wrecking the shape.
The tool I was forced to make was a PVC cap, that luckily fit, so it
would be solid to hit on center, with a cutout for the area where the
hose taps off it.
placed carefully, it still took several tries before a big hit finally
drove it home.
Not fun in an engine compartment, I'd venture to predict. It was a pain
enough on an engine stand.
