How to R&R CV boots, front struts...

All,
  Yes, I have a bentley.  However, it's been my experience that a
good two page how-to from a lister is worth a hundred pages in the
bentley.
  I'm going to be replacing CV boots and front struts on my '88 5KTQ
for the first time in a couple of weeks.  If someone could post a
detailed step-by-step description of how to do one or both of these
things, I'd really, really appreciate it.  Also, I'd love to know what tools
I'm going to need ahead of time, so that I don't get under there and
find, for example, that I need a 10mm triple square when all I have is
an 8mm one.

  On another note, I had the fuel system pressure checked at a local
shop, and they told me the fuel pressure regulator was bad.  Could
this cause my hard start, very poor idle, stalling, etc?  These things
go bad fairly frequently?
