Well, it's amazing I only spent $18.60 on my car today
for some caliper bolts and Water Wetter. I was at
Stammler in Boulder when something caught my eye. A
new A8 test car! They tried to disguise it with no
emblems, and some funny looking stick on tail light
and headlight decals. Funny, it looked like the 7
series at first glance. The car looked like a tank, a
very cool tank loaded with multiple laptops and other
gadgets. It also had the biggest f'n brakes I've ever
seen. The rotors took up almost all the space under
the 18" wheels, and the calipers dwarfed the six
piston GT2 brakes I took a look at later in the day at
Autosport Werks.
While I was there looking at all their cool stuff, I
asked if they knew of anyone in town that was good
with custom headers. First let me say these guys know
Audis, and always have ur-s cars in there getting
obscene things done to them. Anyways they swear by
the two piece manifold, saying it will easily push
300hp. They also said they've dyno'd (yes they have a
four wheel dyno) a Dynalinx EM at 400 hp. Anyways, my
one question is, can the two piece manifold be ported
enough to maybe push 350 hp? I've never seen one, but
I would imagine since it's in two pieces you could get
a long carbide bit in there and remove a good amount
of material. Yea, I know, for the price I could build
a header.
Later,
=====
