Bilstein Sport, with Boge Turbo Gas being a distant second.
You'll kill OEM shocks with those springs.
Forget KYB, Monroe, etc.

Subject: Audi 5kT: Shocks for H&R springs
So this car I'm working on ('85 5kT FWD) is gonna need a suspension
rebuild too. So while the block gets cleaned up, I figured it would be a
good time to change the struts and springs. I'm planning on getting the
H&R 1.5" lowering springs, but I'm not sure what shocks to get. I assume
the OE Boge
(Automatic?) shocks wouldn't keep up w/ the springs, so I was thinking
of getting the Boge Turbo Gas shocks. Any comments on that? Also I'm not
sure where to find 'em, although I saw the rear ones advertised on a VW
site. Any sources?? I want shocks w/ lifetime warranties. All Boge
shocks come w/ that. Bilstein's are too, but I'm a little hesitant, as
I've heard the ride can be harsh, and they're WAY more expensive than
the Boge units. I was thinking of KYB, but I don't think they have quite
the heritage as the other brands, and I couldn't find any warranty info.
Forget Monroe shocks, even though they're lifetimes. Any advice or
experiences welcomed. As always, TIA!
