which shop press for DIY stuff? (bearings/bushings/etc.)

Oh yeah.  Since you mentioned cost.  I USED to use
automotive machine shops.  I was doing subframe
bushings.  The guy charged me like $60., used some
beat-up bullsh*t arbors (pieces of pipe and such) and
ruined 2 of the 4 bushings.  Gave me some BS about
they wouldn't go in straight.  That's when/why I
bought the press.  It has paid for itself many times
over in saved time, money and hassle.
