Not entirely accurate- you can't fit wider than 235/40R17 on an A4 without
pulling and rolling the fenders. Ed Morfe (IIRC) on Audiworld has fitted
255/40R17 Kumho V700s for track use on his A4, but that's after pulling and
rolling and that is really pushing the limit.

Wheel bearings are really only an issue with extreme track widening via
spacers- over 15mm is probably not advisable. Unless you want "LA Lowrider"
gold 15" Daytons with some crazy offset (ET 0?), I wouldn't worry about it.
