Glad to see your problems have
graduated to this.

It's simple.

Open Ashtray. Pull upwards and towards the rear of the car. If you can
get your fingers
under the ashtray, it'll assist you in the upwards part. BTW, if you look
to the right of
the seat heater control for the passenger seat, there is a panel with a
push-button
at the center top. Press the button and the panel will swing down,
revealing a rather
nice fitted coin holder for Nickels through Quarters (US models.
Obviously different
for other locations).

Subject: Newbie Ashtray Question

I cannot seem to figure out how to take the ashtray out of my 89 Audi
200 Turbo.  No levers to press and it looks like a hinge of some sort
in the back.  Fortunately no one who has owned the car smoked so far,
but it would make it easier to get change, etc. out.
