My 1987 5k csq sedan has 183 k miles, SJM 1.8 bar mod, and will get a k 24
turbo in the next month. The rear shocks are gone and need replacement.
The front (KYB gas, with 100k miles on them) are old but still good. The
tires have nearly 40k miles on them so they too are ripe for change.

So I have an opportunity to improve the car's handling, an opportunity that
does not come too often. I am looking for a ride which is sporty but not
teeth shattering (I have to drive 60 miles or so everyday on Chicagoland
roads !!) - flatter cornering, less nose dive on hard braking, sharper
steering response. This is our family car, and is also used on vacation
trips like the one we took the last 2 weeks (3300 miles roundtrip from Oak
Park, IL to Toronto, to Quebec City, to Montreal, to Brattleboro VT and back
to Oak Park. As good as the drive was from Quebec City to Tadoussac along
the north coast of the ST.Lawrence River, I could not help but wonder how
much nicer it could have been with a tighter suspension).

I have gathered from reading comments from listers that suspension design is
a matter of compromises. I would appreciate any recommendations listers
could make from their experiences in increasing levels of cost.

Thanks for the help.

Chander
