coolant flushing, refilling

    I'm prolly coming in late on this one, but there's a big difference
between running the car with the coolant cap on and running with it off.

    Typically systems are run with around 13psi caps on, the result being
that the boiling temp of the coolant is raised substantially by the time the
pressure is close to that point. Not only that, at normal temps and usage
there will be a pressure increase and the coolants effectiveness is
increased. All this happens even with good ole tap water before you start
adding anything clever.

    Running without a cap increases the chance off localised overheating
(e.g. geyser effects!)
