I think this is somewhat characteristic of quattro and all wheel drive cars in general, they are very forgiving.  I haven't spent too much time behind the wheel of a WRX, so I'm not sure to what degree of forgivness it may be, but in the stock setup they are very compliant and balanced, which helps in this area.
