What other alternators fit 200's?

No, the main reason for the question is more
along the lines of the alternator not being
available very easily, if I'm in a pinch out
there.

If I had the extra money lying around, and if I
could go carless for a while, I'd do the
ultranator conversion.

No you can't put the Passat Alternator on (as
far as I know!).

You can put on an older 90AMP alternator but you
will also need the bracket,
would not bolt without it!

Audi has 110, 115, 120 Alternators with the same
housings but it will still
be "expensive".  Personally I don't think they
are expensive.  The housing
of the 110 alternators is larger than the older
90AMP meaning: more room to
dissipate heat, meaning more power!  Heat in an
alternator means REDUCED
performance! Keep that in mind.

You don't want to REDUCE the electrical power
available since our cars love
electrical power and "as is they are" they are
UNDER supplied!

The reason I'm asking is because of my upcoming
move to Iowa. I just wanna know, just in case
Something happens along the drive over, or while
out there. It seems the 200 110/115 amp
alternator is expensive in rebuilt form. I saw a
pic of a passat alternator and one from a later
vanagon, but not sure if they will fit. I think
the pulley needs to be changed, however.

I know about Avi, so please don't tell me again.
I would consider his rebuild, but my question is
for a different purpose, altogether.

BTW-I've seen some listings for 115 amp
alternators fro 200's. Did they ever come with
these?
