Subframes themselves are the same (at the rear end) BTDT myslef, I used a 4kq (with 3 piece diff) subframe on my '83 Ur-q (with one piece diff).

The only thing you have to watch out for is the driveshaft flanges.  As long as you match them, everything else will bolt up.

Sorry but I never heard of a 3.89 in a CQ20v (typ 89).

The 3.89 ring and pinion will also fit into 3 piece 4kq tranny making 3.89 possible.
